About the Race

Dear Runner,

After a fantastic first year and due to popular demand (being pestered) we have decided to run the event again. Last year the race raised £13,700 and we are hopeful that we can achieve around that again this year if not more. This brilliant total was in no small part due to the kindness of the sponsors, those who donated, and from people giving of their time generously. If you have friends or family who aren't likely to run then they are welcome to come along as a marshall we need a few more than last year to cover the start and finish areas better.
This year we are offering you the option to purchase a technical T-shirt as soon as entries open. They will be £10 and any profits will go to the fundraising total. You can still make a donation on top of your fee and this will be split between Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund and The Outward Bound Trust. Please make sure you tick the Gift Aid box so we can reclaim the tax. If you prefer we have again set up a fund raising page via BT Donate Bannockburn 701 10k
We have taken feedback from last year, and while we had some tremendous comments there were some areas where we hope to improve this year. We will double the portaloos to cover the volume of pre-race nervous visits required by the runners; we are starting and finishing the 3k kids race at the finish this year to make it easier for parents to watch the 3k and still make the start of the 1k for the younger children and then the 10k race; we hope to have a proper PA system at the start; we will be putting barriers up at the finish to section off the runners from supporters; we will have water closer to the finish and hope to put on a third water station on the route. We hope to have at least as much fun
